AYURVEDA - THE SCIENCE OF LIFE

ABOUT AYURVEDA

Ayurveda, the ‘science of life and longevity" is the oldest healing system in the world in continuous practice. It dates over 4000 years, with roots going back even further. It is the world’s first holistic system of health maintenance, based on lifestyle, diet and herbs, and it has been the traditional Indian healing science for the past five thousands years. It is now spreading throughout the world due to the efforts of many people and organizations that have discovered its values and brought it to the west.

Many scientists and enthusiastic people from various countries are now turning to Ayurvedic medicine, a comprehensive medical system combining natural therapies with a highly personalized approach to the treatment of disease. This system offers an alternative approach to health care that has proven itself valuable in many situations.

Countries like Europe, United States, Japan, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Canada and many others are now using this time honored ancient healing system as an alternative to traditional systems of treatment and as a powerful and natural prevention system and an efficient self-care system. The holistic science of Ayurveda is a key to health; it helps to prevent diseases, achieve longevity and provides treatment for various acute and chronic illnesses. Ayurvedic medicine places equal emphasis on body, mind, and spirit, and strives to restore the innate harmony of the individual.

Ayurveda strongly involves the patients in the treatment / prevention process, teaching them to accept responsibility for their own health and to be proactive in the prevention / treatment process. It offers an alternative to the common practice of allowing imbalances to grow into diseases and then treating them with drugs and surgeries.

Ayurveda aim to correct imbalances before they develop into diseases, acting as preventive medicine through five process to maintain optimum health: detoxification and cleansing, improving the effectiveness of the immune system, helping the body cope with stress with the use of adaptogenic herbs, and protecting the body with antioxidants and tonics that will keep it in a state of equilibrium and health.

Ayurveda has many different traditions in India and each has its own specialty. Our school works in Association with the World Movement for Ayurveda, Swami Narayanananda Ayurved Saraswati (a renowned world wide authority in Ayurveda), the international Academy of Ayurveda and with well Known Ayurvedic organizations in India.

We are proud to present the first Ayurvedic educator and therapist formation course in Montreal Canada. Our School’s faculty members have a vast experience from all of the Ayurvedic traditions, which will give the students a rare opportunity to experience the many different styles practiced throughout India right here in Canada. Students will also benefit from our staff's vast clinical experience.
